Matt.18.6 - But if anyone causes one of these little ones who trusts in me to lose faith, it would be better for that person to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around the neck.
Birds twittered, rats squeaked and frogs were croaking gently this morning. It had rained last night and there were still more pregnant clouds in the sky. It was a Sunday morning. Everyone had to go to church since it was our usual custom to keep Sunday holy and work free.
Mummy was busy in the kitchen preparing breakfast while my brothers and sisters were preparing for church. The rattling sound of the kitchen utensils persisted and so I got up to have my bath.
At around 7.30am, we were all set for church and Daddy was to take us to church which was about three kilometers from our house. It was the Jesus Charismatic Gospel Church, popularly known as JCGC and Jesus Church, that we attended on Sundays.
Prov.6.25 - Don't lust for her beauty. Don't let her coyness seduce you.
Prov.6.26 - For a prostitute will bring you to poverty, and sleeping with another man's wife may cost you your very life.
I remembered the times we had to trek to church, then Daddy didn't have a car and he had not started attending church then. Mummy and some members of our church had to persistently convince Daddy to start attending church. And funny enough, Daddy attached a condition to his going to church. Which was that; 'their God's should provide him a car and get Him a better employment.
He eventually joined us at church one day. Mummy and the children had left home that day leaving Daddy at home. But, we later found Daddy in church. We were very surprised and he told us that our God had granted him his request. That was the day daddy got his first car.
Prov.6.27 - Can a man scoop fire into his lap and not be burned?
Prov.6.29 - So it is with the man who sleeps with another man's wife. He who embraces her will not go unpunished.
We got to church by 8.00am and service started with the Sunday School. Our Sunday school was for one hour before the Sunday service start by 9.00am.
After Sunday school was praise and worship. And it was usual for the youths in the church to dance in circles in front of the altar.
When I got back to my seat, I met Jolami sitting beside my chair. It was an experience I had to get over from. I smiled and hugged her. She was glad to see me. She was looking georgeous and perfect.
Something else happened that strucked me. There was another girl that sat beside me. She was completely light in complexion and was tall. Her beauty was hidden in the lines of her complexion. She was also blessed with a fresh skin that looked like a baby's. The was her first time too I'm church I guessed.
Prov.7.5 - Let them hold you back from an affair with an immoral woman, from listening to the flattery of an adulterous woman.The problem with the lady was her dress. It was blue, skimpy, hort and transparent. It caught the attention of every man that sat on that row. What she did that annoyed me more was her looseness. She sat carelessly and I had to occasionally stare at her laps.
Job.31.1 - "I made a covenant with my eyes not to look with lust upon a young woman.
I wouldn't say I enjoyed it because the devil under me had started rising. Anytime she adjusted on her seat, the more uncomfortable I became. When it was time for the pastor's sermon, I knew I was in for it. My stupid self made my pen fall under the chair so as to get a better view of her posture.
The lady noticed me and she winked at me.
"Mogbe!"
Thank God for Jolami who tapped me and jolted me back to consciousness.
"You're blessed Abbey", Jolami said revealing her set of sparkling white teeth perfectly dented.
"You're blessed too", I managed to reply.
Prov.7.25 - Don't let your hearts stray away toward her. Don't wander down her wayward path.
Prov.7.26 - For she has been the ruin of many; numerous men have been her victims.
Prov.7.27 - Her house is the road to the grave. Her bedroom is the den of death.
Be on the look out! There are some laps you are not to look at. It's called the 'second look'. Once you take a second look at Delilah's laps, then you will lose your eyes and power just as Samson did. You will end up losing your life too.
So be wise and guided!
